Why do we dreams

A dream is a succession of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that usually occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. Dreams mainly occur in the rapid-eye movement (REM) stages of sleep- When brain activity is high and resembles that of being awake. We have access to very deep knowledge in there, and we're sleeping through it most of the time. Dreams tell you what you really know about something, what you really feel. The point you toward what you need for growth, integration, expression, and the health of your relationships to person, place an thing. Dreams appear to be influenced by our waking lives in many ways.

Theories about why we dream include those that suggest dreaming is a means by which the brain processes emotions, stimuli, memories and information that's been absorbed throughout the waking day. The content of a dreams refers to the true meaning of the dream. Manifest content represent the story line of a dream. It is the actual content of a dream. The collective unconscious was given by Jung. According to him the archetypes along with their meanings are devised by the symbols.

Some experts suggests that dreams may include may include events that a person has not necessarily thought through while awake. However, some dreams come true without any intervention or "post-dreams" action that could have been controlled by the dreamer or anyone who knew the content of the dream. Specially when you dreams about someone, it is very likely that you were thinking about that person when you fell asleep. This creates an imprint of your thoughts on your subconscious mind, which get reflected in your dreams. As if nightmares weren't bad enough, a rare sleep disorder- called REM sleep behavior- Cause people to act out their dreams, sometimes with violent thrashes, kicks and screams. "Dreaming, in general, reflects the person's waking states, concerns, worries, desires, etc. An individuals who desire someone who is 'off limits' may experience sexual dreams about that person because it's the brain's way of experimenting with the idea without actually following through with it."

Here is my definition of a dreams that can be put to the test and will pass: A dream is an inspiring picture of the future that energizes your mind, will and emotions, empowering you to do everything you can to achieve it. A dream worth pursuing is a picture and blueprint of a person's purpose and potential. We Forget almost all dreams soon after waking up. Our forgetfulness is generally attributed to neurochemical conditions in the brain that occur during REM sleep, a phase of sleep characterized by rapid eye movements and dreaming.

The dreaming/reverie end involves some of the most creative and "far out" material. The length of a dream can vary; they may last for a few seconds, or approximately 20-30 minutes. The average person has three to five dreams per night, and some may have up to seven; however, most dreams are immediately or quickly forgotten. Dreams tend to last longer as the night progresses.

When light seeps through our eyelids and touches our retinas, a signal is sent to a deep-brain region called the suprachiasmatic nucleus. This is the time, for many of us, that our last dream dissolves, we open our eyes, and we rejoin our real life. Theory states that dreams don't actually mean anything. Instead they're  merely  electrical brain impulses that pull random thoughts and imagery from our memories. This is why Freud studied dreams to understand the unconscious mind. Therefore, according to Freud, your dreams reveal your repressed wishes to you. One widely held theory about the purpose of dreams is that they help you store important memories and things you've learned, get rid of unimportant memories, and sort through complicated thoughts and feelings. Research shows that sleep helps store memories. It is possible for two people to have the same dream on the same night and for two people to appear in each others dream.

Dreaming about somebody does not necessarily mean that specific person is actually missing you, although the psychological effect makes many people to believe so. And this is especially true the dream is extremely vivid. Just a minute ago, a friend called me that she just has a dream. A sudden itch or twitching of your eye- someone is thinking about you. For example, if your right eye is itching or twitching, that means that someone is not so happy about you, but if your eye does the same, someone is either in love with you or getting there. And for men, it goes the other way around.

A bad dreams about falling means feel powerless or out of control, or that you are afraid of failing at something. A nightmare about drowning means you feel overwhelmed by your emotion. Dreaming about war or a fight could mean that you need to be more assertive in a real-life confrontation. Weird dreams are often the result of psychological stress or changes in your routine. Exposure to stress or anxiety right before you sleep- like reading the news or watching a scary movie - can also cause strange or vivid dreams.
